“Is Google Making Us Stupid?”: The Medium’s Effect on the Message in the Age of the Internet

A must-read article in The Atlantic (July/August 2008): “Is Google Making Us Stupid?”  Those who have pondered how “the medium affects the message” (a la Marshall McLuhan) will find this a very interesting exploration into the implications of the internet as a medium and how it may be affecting us.  Although written from a secular viewpoint, implications of the article for preaching and the Christian life of the mind should be evident.  Another line of thought would consider the implications of the internet medium for theological discussion via blogs.
